John Underhill CFP®

John is the founder and financial planner of Acorn & Oak Wealth Management which he started in 2021. Prior to that he was a financial advisor for a national firm.


He is dedicated to providing personalized, comprehensive financial planning. His clients appreciate his ability to break down complex financial strategies so that they are easily understood.


John is a Certified Financial PlannerTM, which is recognized in the United States and a number of other countries for its high standard of professional education; stringent code of conduct and standards of practice; and ethical requirements that govern professional engagements with Clients.



John is happily married to his wife Maggie and has three amazing boys. Outside of the office you’ll find John golfing, playing pickleball or tennis, bourbon hunting and enjoying time with his friends and family.
